We see you even if you don’t care to be seen.
We see you driving your kid everywhere. Sometimes to the middle of nowhere. Sometimes at ungodly hours.
We see you making sure your kid is well-nourished.
We see you perfectly timing your trips to the snack bar to keep your kid’s mojo rolling between double-headers.
We see you knowing exactly what your kid needs at any given time, be it a handful of Skittles, an extra water bottle or nothing at all.
We see you handling the endless logistics synonymous with youth sports.
We see you oozing with nervousness but trying to keep a neutral appearance, especially in those critical moments when your kid is pitching, serving or trying to save.
We see you adorned in your kid’s team apparel and know you’re beaming with pride and love.
We see you not adorned in your kid’s team apparel and know you’re equally beaming with pride and love.
We see (and hear) you cheering for the loudest for your kid.
We see how your mere presence is a comfort to your kid even if they don’t always show it.
We see you making sure your kid keeps up their academics.
We see you falling in love with a sport you never played just because your kid loves it.
We see you happily tossing aside a good chunk of your social life to go cheer on your kid.
We know there’s no place you’d rather be.
Happy Mother’s Day, and please share with any members of your youth sports mom tribe that could use a dose of appreciation . ❤️
